Brief: A single-storey extension creating an open-plan kitchen and dining space as well as a family living area. A downstairs toilet and utility room were also installed.
Typical Victorian semis do not always lend themselves well to modern living, and it was the lack of practical space that lead Allan to add not just a single-storey extension, but to convert the loft into two bedrooms and a bathroom. To let light into the extension, bi-folding doors were installed as well as two skylight windows into a pitched roof. The floor-to-ceiling doors connect the living space with the garden and creates a nice flow.
The downstairs utility and bathroom is a practical everyday space that makes it easy to hide those essential appliances, giving more space for storage in the kitchen. At the same time, a side dormer loft conversion was installed by our sister company Simply Loft, creating two bedrooms and a bathroom.
